Overall my memories are all very good even the quirky Tarbabe mascotts we had, twins Steven & Sterling Rice the great marching band led by Mr. Thomas, Team Teaching techniques. I have not seen very many of my former class mates but I heard many are now gone to the other side but to all who still add grace to our community and lives I wish you all the best that life holds. Curtis Mayfield wrote a song with a title so poignant today as we look out over the twilight of our age and I want to say to every one who reads this mess. "Keep on Pushing", we can't stop now look a little higher some way some how cause it don't make sense but we gotta try, just keep on push'n. Your truly, Ms Sharon D. I had joined the ROTC and had not really taken it that seriously. Who would ever think that I would serve a combined 24 years. Despite what some may say.....Compton High prepared me for the person I am today. My other memories included working at Thrifty's on Rosecrans and Central, and driving my 1967 Chrysler Newport. Those were the days! Posted: 02/06/2011 |
